Published on July 28, 2025

Here we are, 7 months into 2025, and we have another exciting Neurobionics news roundup.

In January, Dr. Rouse returned from his sabbatical at Boston Dynamics AI Institute. We’re happy to have him back!

In early May, Dr. Rouse delivered a keynote talk, titled “Auctions, Preferences, and Wearable Robots: The Development of Meaningful Exoskeletons and Robotic Prostheses” during the 2025 RehabWeek conference.

Congratulations to Dr. Kevin Best who successfully defended his PhD in late May. Great work Kevin!

In June PhD student Anushka Rathi was awarded the NSF GRFP! Congratulations Anushka!

In July, select Neurobionics students attended the Dynamic Walking conference in Aachen, Germany. PhD student Ellie Wilson presented her work titled, “Towards Sim-to-Real Reinforcement Learning Control for the Open-Source Leg v2” and PhD student David Lam presented his work titled, “Emulation of Multiple Prosthetic Feet with a Quasi-Passive Prosthetic Ankle“.

This summer we have several new faces around the lab, including: Matteo Crotti, a visitor from IIT Genoa in Italy, SROP students Farah Haidar, Kenzie Matthews, and Mel Kane, and visiting clinician Itzel Fer, MD. Welcome everyone!
