Riley received his BS degree in Biomedical Engineering with a Biomechanics focus and a double major in Neurobiology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2021. During his time as an undergraduate student, he got involved in research with a lab focused on computational modeling of cardiovascular biomechanics. He also joined the UW BADGER Lab to work with Dr. Peter Adamczyk on a standing 2-wheeled robot with passive stabilization. Riley also worked as a summer intern in the Center for Bionic Medicine at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab where he developed machine learning models for the assessment of neuromuscular disorders via wearable devices. Currently pursuing his PhD in Robotics at the University of Michigan, he is primarily interested in research in the mechatronic design of robotic prosthetics and exoskeletons and their implications in human biomechanics.
