About
David earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted research at the Human Dynamics and Controls Lab, developing hardware and controllers for a ballbot wheelchair. He also served as the president and drivetrain lead of a Formula SAE Electric team where he designed gearboxes for the racecar. David completed his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2023. During his master's program, he worked at the Precision Systems Design Lab, integrating variable transmission into a prosthetic hand for enhanced grip strength and speed. Additionally, he interned at the Neurobionics Lab focusing on design of ankle-foot orthoses. David is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. His research interests include the design, modeling, and characterization of exoskeletons and prosthetics.
