About
Elissa received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami in May 2025, with a minor in Electrical Engineering. While at UMiami, she conducted research at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, focused on rehabilitation methods and neurotechnology for individuals with neurological disorders. In the summer of 2024, she was an intern in the University of Michigan Neurobionics Lab, where she contributed to the Open-Source Leg project through mechanical design improvements and controller implementation. Elissa is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Robotics at the University of Michigan as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, with research interests in the design and control of powered prostheses and exoskeletons.
