About

Joshua Lian graduated last semester from the University of Michigan with a BSE Electrical Engineering with minors in Multidisciplinary Design (MDP) and CS. Hailing from the DC Metro area, Josh is currently pursuing a masters degree at UofM in Electrical and Computer Engineering intending to become a battery engineer after graduation. Joshua's professional experience lies primarily in aerospace, having worked with Northrop Grumman under the MDP program, General Atomics's Space Systems Division, and eVTOL startup Wisk Aero. He's been involved with the UofM Solar Car team, where he spent twelve days in the summer of 2022 leading a race vehicle across the continental United States on solar power alone; with a group of four others, he worked with Professor Alex Shorter's lab to redesign a wearable dolphin motion-tracking tag. He was a lab instructor for EECS 300 (Electrical Systems Design II) for three semesters. Current interests of his include electric aviation, battery controls, sustainable and neo-urbanist design, wearable electronics, and embedded systems applications. He's also involved in Asian Intervarsity, a Christian fellowship on campus, and is an avid volleyball player.
