About

Naveed Reza Aghamohammadi is a Research Investigator in the Neurobionics Lab at the University of Michigan’s Robotics Department. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering-Controls from the K.N.Toosi University of Technology (’05 Tehran, Iran), M.Sc.(M.Eng) in Advanced Controls and Systems Engineering Advanced (’16 Sheffield, UK) and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedica Engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago with of Dr. James Patton (expected Summer ‘26). Naveed has worked as R&D engineer and designer in semiconductor industry in Iran and has applied system identification to various complex systems such as Vapor depositions chambers and advanced vacuum pumps. For his PhD Naveed created a personalized robotic therapy called Error Fields which he applied to train upper extremity affected stroke subjects; Naveed also actively investigates system identification of human motor control and motor learning. While in Neurobionics lab, Naveed is investigating system identification applied to dynamics of ankle-joint spasticity in post-stroke population and investigating development of accessible and effective gait-rehabilitation devices for post-stroke patients.
